We’re Marta and Giulia. Two dressmakers, two friends, one atelier in Turin. We’ve been working together for twelve years.
We started as Due Sarte per Amiche, and that’s still the most accurate way to describe us. Millennial Seamstresses is the name we tell the story under today: same table, same two dressmakers.
We really know how to sew: it’s not a hobby we rediscovered during lockdown, it’s the trade we’ve always worked in. But we also grew up between paper patterns and the internet, with professional expectations on our shoulders and the constant feeling that everything has to be reinvented every six months.
Twelve years at the same table is enough to finish each other’s sentences and to argue about how absolutely anything should be done. One suggests, the other asks why. What we publish comes out of the space in between.
What we talk about
What it means to know how to sew in 2026. How a garment is really built, and how much work hides behind something that looks simple online. What is still worth learning and what can be done differently. Fabrics, fit, full wardrobes and nothing to wear. And every now and then a garment spotted in a K-drama, taken apart and remade.
What we are not
A manual. A tutorial account. Someone else’s behind-the-scenes.
Less sewing manual, more workroom chatter.
